Actuarial Associate – Assumptions (Two open positions)
This newly added Actuarial Associate will play a key role in determining Venerable’s variable annuity assumptions used to model mortality and policyholder behavior. The individual’s primary responsibility will be monitoring experience trends, recommending assumption updates, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership for select deferred and payout variable annuity assumptions. This position will also participate in the Actuarial Student Program.
Associate Actuary – Model Validation
This new role will have primary responsibility for Variable Annuity model validation and transaction review projects, both offering opportunities to work across the Finance organization, Corporate Development function, and external Actuarial service providers. The role reports to the overall lead of the model validation projects, within the Capital Management and Modeling team in the Finance function. Involvement in transaction review projects primarily includes modeling due diligence.​
Senior Actuarial Associate – Inforce Management
This position will support the Venerable Product Management team by assisting with cross-functional projects related to the ongoing administration and management of our in-force block of annuities and life insurance. The position contributes to research, proposes ideas, presents findings, and supports solutions to complex problems for various audiences, playing a key role in managing and reducing administrative risk. The role requires the development of an understanding of business operations and assistance leveraging analysis with guidance and oversight from more senior team members. This position participates in the Actuarial Student Program, including rotation across various functional areas.
Director, Sr. Actuarial Manager – Financial Risk Management
This new position will lead an actuarial staff within the Financial Risk Management team, which is tasked with monitoring, analyzing and investigating financial risks that may arise through the course of the Company’s business. Such risks may arise naturally through our VA reinsurance and hedging operations, other product lines, or from external sources including regulatory changes and economic factors.

The successful candidate will ideally have a broad understanding of financial reporting from a whole company perspective while also having a strong command of technical details – particularly around variable annuities, their valuation and hedging of their related embedded guarantees. This role offers opportunities to engage with senior management, other departments across the Finance and Risk functions, and external vendors.​
Actuarial Manager – Reinsurance Pricing
This newly added position will be a part of Venerable’s Strategy team which focuses on flow reinsurance and transaction assumption due diligence. In addition to flow reinsurance pricing and profitability analysis, the team supports actuarial analysis in most M&A projects and other growth opportunities. As this is a newly created and high-profile role, the candidate has the exceptional opportunity to drive the role’s responsibilities.
Associate Actuary – Transactions
This role is a part of Venerable’s Strategy team which focuses on flow reinsurance and transaction assumption due diligence. This is a key role that supports transactions diligence and assumption derivations in most M&A projects and other growth opportunities. This is a dynamic, technical and high-profile role, where the candidate has the expectation to own and opportunity to drive their project’s responsibilities from start to implementation.
